Ferdinand Johannes Rabie

My experience in the entertainment industry has already started 15 years ago when I started my tour company

Ferdinand’s Tours. Back then we only did wine tours, Cape Point Tours and Cederberg hiking trips, but my

understanding of people and their needs in the entertainment and service industry already started back then. After I

partook in the Big Brother reality show in 2001, I started doing an enormous amount of appearances all over South Africa

and through that, have built up quite a contact base in the event and entertainment industry, not to mention my contacts

in the media. Most of the celebrities and artists I have worked with and/or met over the past 9 years, due to my

appearances, are close friends of mine, which makes it so much easier for me to book a celebrity for an event.

I have done over 1000 appearances and events over the past 11 years where about 30% of those

were shopping mall advertising and/or openings. In my first year alone, after BB, I have flown

260 times in 1 year for events all over the country and in between that still ran my Cape

Town based Tours and Events Company. I also host auctions for charity events, as well

as company functions.

I understand clients and their needs and have had 1st hand experience in organizing

and booking events. Over the past year, Ferdinand’s Tours have concentrated more

on corporate events and have built up a huge client base. Some of our major clients

are Nashua, Sanlam, FNB, Absa, KPMG to name just a few. I have been

personally involved in all of our big Events, from the planning to the actual

hosting and have had no complaints so far.

Being born and raised in Worcester, I do understand the town and it’s people’s

needs. In my experience, knowing and understanding your client base,

already puts you in a winning position. My life and work is about working

with people and when it comes to understanding our complicated race

and their needs, I am a confirmed expert!
